MITSOUKO MUSIC is a non-profit association founded in 2017, based in Le Breil Rond, 35340 Liffre, France. Our association was born out of a shared conviction: that musicians deserve to be heard, recognized, and supported—not only artistically, but also professionally and logistically. Our work is guided by the belief that music is not simply entertainment, but a vital form of cultural expression, social connection, and creative labor that deserves to be treated with dignity.
We focus on a very specific and essential mission—connecting talented musicians or groups of musicians with cultural and artistic actors, including venue managers, festival organizers, and local event planners. At the core of our work lies a commitment to building strong, transparent, and sustainable relationships between artists and the broader cultural infrastructure in which they perform.
Unlike platforms that promote artists solely through digital exposure, MITSOUKO MUSIC works behind the scenes to ensure that musicians are placed in situations where their artistry is valued, and where they are fairly compensated for their contribution. Whether it’s a small concert in a local bar, a performance in a town hall, a stage in a community festival, or an invitation to collaborate in an artistic residency, our role is to act as a reliable intermediary who ensures that the interests of the artists and the organizers are equally respected.
A Collective of Passionate People
Our association is composed of a diverse and motivated team, including music enthusiasts, cultural workers, and event professionals. Most of us have backgrounds in the music industry—some as musicians, others as technicians, organizers, or cultural mediators. What unites us is a shared commitment to strengthening the presence of music in our communities, and ensuring that those who create it are treated as professionals.
We understand the realities musicians face: the difficulties of finding consistent performance opportunities, the challenges of negotiating fair payment, the lack of visibility in a saturated market, and the pressure of maintaining both creative output and administrative demands. We also understand the perspective of venue managers and organizers, who often juggle logistical constraints, audience expectations, and budget limitations.
That dual awareness allows us to operate at the intersection of artistry and administration, ensuring balance, clarity, and mutual respect between all parties involved.
Our Purpose
MITSOUKO MUSIC was established with a clear and pragmatic objective: to promote musicians or musical groups by connecting them to cultural and artistic actors while ensuring compliance and professional standards during paid services. These services include performances in bars, concert halls, festivals, and events organized by both private and nonprofit organizations.
We do not manage artists as a commercial agency might, nor do we simply act as a listing service. Our work is more personal and contextual. We promote based on fit—not just genre or style, but also values, purpose, and artistic intention. We work closely with both the artists and the organizers to understand what each is looking for and how the collaboration can succeed.
How We Work
Our approach is based on careful communication, documentation, and long-term relationship building. When a musician or group becomes involved with MITSOUKO MUSIC, we take the time to understand their goals, preferred settings, musical identity, and availability. We offer guidance on how to present their work professionally and how to navigate the expectations of performance contracts, technical riders, and payment terms.
On the other side, we work with venue managers and organizers to ensure they understand the logistical and financial needs of the artists they invite. We help them prepare for performances, manage expectations, and maintain professional standards before, during, and after events.
When needed, we assist with administrative formalities such as contracts, performance declarations, and invoicing procedures. Our role is not just to facilitate the booking but to ensure that both sides benefit from the experience and are motivated to work together again in the future.
A Focus on Professionalism
One of the cornerstones of our identity is our commitment to professionalism. For musicians, this means being treated as artists and workers—not hobbyists or volunteers. We advocate for proper contracts, respectful working conditions, and clear financial agreements. For venues and event organizers, this means helping them access reliable talent that matches their audience, space, and vision—while also ensuring that legal and fiscal obligations are fulfilled.
We believe that professionalism is not about bureaucracy, but about respect. Respect for time, effort, talent, and the social value of music as a craft.
A Commitment to Cultural Diversity
MITSOUKO MUSIC promotes music in all its forms—regardless of genre, origin, or tradition. We believe that musical diversity is one of the greatest strengths of our cultural fabric. Our association welcomes musicians of every background and aesthetic, from jazz to folk, from classical to experimental, from world music to rock, electronic, hip hop, or any hybrid form.
We also encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration—between musicians and dancers, visual artists, writers, filmmakers, and other creatives. Music does not exist in isolation. It is part of a living cultural ecosystem that thrives on cooperation, curiosity, and dialogue.
Local Roots, Open Horizons
Although based in Liffre, MITSOUKO MUSIC is not limited to one geographic area. We support initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels. We work with artists and organizers across France and are open to future collaborations beyond borders. What matters most to us is not the size of the venue or the location of the performance, but the sincerity and quality of the artistic exchange.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, MITSOUKO MUSIC remains committed to evolving alongside the needs of the cultural and musical landscape. We are constantly exploring new ways to support musicians—whether through curated events, resource-sharing, educational workshops, or expanded networks of cultural partners.
We believe that music must continue to have a strong presence in public life, and that the people who create it must be supported in a sustainable and just manner. Our association is not driven by profit or popularity, but by purpose, passion, and the belief that music builds stronger, more humane communities.
